Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use

• Test Lenis in black and white first—its subtlety disappears on low-contrast backgrounds.
• Compare uppercase and lowercase side-by-side in your layout. The rhythm shifts meaningfully; don’t assume tracking defaults will carry across cases.
• Check spacing in real context: set a full brand phrase (“Hand-Poured • Small Batch • Made in Portland”) and step back. Adjust tracking manually—it rarely needs much, but it always benefits from it.
• Try it beside a serif font (for contrast), another sans serif font (for differentiation), a script font (to gauge elegance balance), a handwritten font (to avoid tonal clash), and a bold display font (to test hierarchy integrity).
• Always verify commercial licensing before adding Lenis to client deliverables, digital products, or printable design assets—some weights require extended licenses for app or SaaS use.
• Render it on multiple devices. I’ve seen subtle hinting issues on older Android browsers—preview on real hardware, not just browser emulators.
